Have you ever met someone who seemed too perfect? They’re always on top of their game, they never make mistakes, and they seem to have it all together. It can be intimidating, and it can even make you feel envious.

But here’s the thing: No one is perfect. We all have flaws, even the people who seem to have it all. And if you try to act like you’re perfect, people will see right through you. They’ll start to resent you, and they may even try to sabotage you.

So, what’s the solution? Be yourself. Admit your flaws, be humble, and be approachable. People will appreciate your honesty, and they’ll be more likely to trust you.

Example:

You’re a student who is getting straight A’s. You're at the top of your class, and you’re always the first one to volunteer to answer questions in class. It’s easy to start feeling like you’re better than everyone else.

But if you start acting like you’re perfect, you’re going to make people jealous. They’ll start to resent you for your academic success, and they may even try to sabotage you.

A better approach is to be modest and admit your weaknesses. For example, you could say something like, “I’m really grateful for my grades, but I know I still have a lot to learn.” This will make you seem more approachable and relatable, and it will help to deflect envy.

The 46th law of the 48 Laws of Power is a reminder that it’s important to be humble and admit your flaws. If you appear too perfect, you’re going to make people jealous, and they may even try to sabotage you. By being modest and open about your weaknesses, you’ll make yourself more approachable and relatable, and you’ll deflect envy.
